Carmel was found wandering in an apartment complex hungry and suffering from malnutrition. A retired couple was delighted to adopt her. She has gained five pounds and is so spoiled she sleeps under the covers in their bed. Carmel spends her time between a cabin in Payson and her home in Phoenix. |

The kitten in the picture is clinging for dear life to his foster. This picture was taken moments after the kitten was rescued from a fruit stand along a busy road in Coolidge Arizona. Named for the town he was found in, Coolidge was the only one of his littermates found alive. His mother was killed by a car. Coolidge moved to Tucson and found his forever home. |

Greta was saved from Pima Animal Care Center. Shortly after rescue, she developed severe pneumonia. Her dedicated foster slept on the couch next to Greta's dog bed every night until she stabilized. Once she was nursed back to health, it soon became apparent that Greta was too nervous to be shown at the adoption sites. Her picture was posted on the web and as a result, Greta stayed in foster care for quite some time. FAIR's patience paid off, the right family finally came along. She lives happily as an only dog in a family with a young adult son and preteen daughter. She is loved very much in her new home. |

Three and a half month old Posey and six of her littermates were found running loose around the area between Interstate 10 and Miracle Mile. They were taken to Pima Animal Care Center where it was determined that they could not be adopted out because they were too shy. A compassionate FAIR representative performed her own assessment and decided to rescue them. It took less than 24 hours for the pups to overcome their shyness and come running to their foster to lap up liver treats and receive loving hugs. Posey and her brother were quickly adopted to a home with a young boy and his sister. The rest of Posey’s littermates also found their forever homes. |

Today Chili Bean is a sweet little energetic ball of fur that playfully bounces around the house like a ping pong ball. A few short months ago Chili Bean and his littermates were slated for euthanasia at Pima Animal Care Center; they were too young to be adopted out. FAIR rescued the kittens and placed them in a loving foster home that gave them the time they needed to grow and mature. You can see from Chili Bean’s picture that he did indeed thrive! His adopted mother a wonderful photographer who volunteers her services for FAIR. |
